home -> recycling -> what we recycle: paper

Every Sunday, more than 500,000 trees are used to produce the 88% of newspapers that are never recycled.

Each ton (2,000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 1,500 litres of oil, and three cubic yards of landfill space.

Paper

Paper is collected in two stages. It starts with a personal paper box which should be under your desk. Below is a listing of what you should put in the box and what you shouldn't. When your personal box is full, please carry it and dump it into the larger communal paper box (usually in the kitchen).

We use Urban Impact for paper recycling. If you would like to establish a paper shredding service with them, they are reachable at 604-273-0089.
